In the christian faith the dance is entered by some
groups into as a means of allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to people. This can take place in any context: an individual
in their own living room; a group workshop setting; a church service or youth event.
The dancer does not need any specific dance training. He/she goes
into a very uninhibited way of moving, and the idea is that, whether consciously or not, the movements are inspired, guided
or directed by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of communication and encouragement of either the dancer(s) and/or watchers.
The movement should be interpreted in the light of Biblical purposes and principles, though these interpretations could be
somewhat odd to some other Christian groups
"Prophetic Dance is a distinct form of Sacred Dance in which revelation
is received by the dancer from God and manifested into movement to bring forth a message to people. It is important to understand
that revelation is revealing or communicating divine truth that is revealed by God to people. God gives revelation through
people in a number of creative ways, such as singing, writing, drama, intrumental music, and dance."

PROPHETIC DANCE -- PROPHESYING THE
ENEMY'S DEMISE
There are times that we express with
specific gestures the prophetic word of the Lord. The prophetic gesture increases the impact of the word being released because
it reinforces the audible with the visual. To prophesy means to predict with certainty. When we dance to such songs as "Making
War in the Heavenlies," we are prophesying - predicting with certainty - the eminent demise of the kingdom of darkness. There
is power behind our dance because our words are not empty, but are backed by the will of God, the unction of the Spirit, and
the agreement of our actions with the words of our mouth.
